Marketing for publishing companies.

Transform your business without transforming your headcount.

Looking to transform your digital marketing results? You’re in good company. We’ve helped leading publishers like Oni Press, Humanoids, and Abrams turn their digital presence into a revenue driver. Our team has deep roots in both publishing and digital marketing, delivering measurable growth for clients across comic books, manga, graphic novels, and traditional books.

Does this sound familiar?

“We know we need to improve our marketing, but our team is spread too thin already.”

You’ve got talented people, but they’re juggling too many platforms, too many strategies, and too many urgent demands. Meanwhile, digital marketing for books keeps getting more complex. If you’re wondering how to stay competitive without hiring a dozen specialists, you’re not alone.

“Our marketing budget is tight, but we need specialist expertise.”

Hiring individual experts for SEO, social media, ads, email marketing, and community management isn’t realistic. But neither is expecting your current publisher marketing team to become experts in everything overnight. How about getting instant access to all the expertise you need?

“Our expertise is in publishing, not digital marketing.”

Your team knows publishing inside and out. They’re experts at spotting great authors, understanding readers, and maintaining editorial standards. But suddenly they’re expected to be TikTok strategists, social media experts, and SEO specialists, too. You didn’t get into publishing to become a tech company, but sometimes it feels like that’s what’s required. Sound overwhelming? We get it.

“We need results now, but we can’t afford expensive mistakes.”

With traditional revenue streams under pressure, every marketing dollar needs to work harder. But testing every new channel, revenue stream, and marketing strategy for books feels risky when you’re working with limited resources. Wouldn’t it be nice to skip the expensive learning curve?

“There’s so much data, but we’re still guessing.”

You’ve got analytics tools, tracking systems, and dashboards galore. But turning all that data into clear decisions? That’s another story. If you’re tired of making educated guesses about what will work, we should talk.

“The industry’s moving fast, and we’re falling behind.”

While you’re busy keeping the lights on, your competitors are experimenting with new platforms and revenue streams. You know you need to move faster, but building everything in-house takes time you don’t have.

Savannah and the Daxia team were an essential component of Oni Press’ social media and digital marketing growth during my time working with them! The Daxia team worked hard to integrate our principles, emulate the tone and character of our brand, and provide actionable input and feedback that we found invaluable.

Savannah leads a team that is knowledgeable, collaborative, and above all else, incredibly kind and ethical. I trust Savannah as a business partner and individual, and am proud to recommend Daxia Digital to anyone looking for digital marketing assistance.

The problem: Oni Press has a large, active following but didn’t have the manpower internally to grow their social media following further or engage with fans.

The solution: Daxia undertook a large-scale organic social media content program, posting daily across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter/X. We created graphics and videos highlighting new and existing titles, and handled daily engagement with fans.

The result:

  • Grew the cross-platform audience by 506%
  • Increased incoming message volume by 82%
  • Improved overall engagement by 18%
  • Grew Facebook engagement by 345%

Humanoids – Establishing a comic book publisher in the US.

Humanoids is a comic book publisher that began in France in the early 1970s before opening a US office in 1998.

The problem: As Humanoids prepared to celebrate its 50th anniversary year, they needed help distinguishing their US office from its French parent, launching an English language version of their renowned Metal Hurlant magazine, and driving interest in their new English language originals. The upcoming movie adaption of The Incal, directed by Taika Waititi, promised to bring a host of new potential customers to the Humanoids catalog, and represented a great opportunity for social media growth.

The solution: Daxia undertook a comprehensive organic social media content program, posting daily across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter/X. We created strategies for the Kickstarter launch of Metal Hurlant and the 50th anniversary celebration. We created graphics and videos highlighting new and existing titles, and handled daily engagement with fans.

The result:

  • Grew the cross-platform social media audience by 107%
  • Increased impressions by 147%
  • Increased incoming message volume from fans by 60%
  • Grew Twitter/X engagement by 1,751%

Working with Daxia has been a great experience from start to finish. The team is creative, adaptable, and responsive to our company’s needs. Thanks to their collaborative process, expertise, and attention to our brand, our digital presence has made a strong impression on our audience and new followers as we expanded into new markets.

Clevo Books – Amplifying the voice of translated literature.

Clevo Books, an independent publisher of translated literature in Cleveland, Ohio, struggled to expand their reach and promote their unique collection of translated foreign language books.

The problem: Despite their niche focus and positive reviews, Clevo lacked effective outreach and promotional strategies.

The solution: Daxia Digital crafted a digital marketing strategy to boost online visibility and drive sales for Clevo Books. We used a multi-platform approach, placing ads on Meta, LinkedIn, and Nativo to reach a wider audience and maximize ROI. We also implemented active community management to interact with potential customers and build brand loyalty.

The result:

Forge Books – Holiday advertising for a beloved author.

Forge Books, part of the Tor Publishing Group (a Macmillan publisher), is committed to smart commercial reads, especially thriller, suspense, mystery, historical fiction, general fiction, and narrative nonfiction.

The problem: Forge wanted to generate holiday sales of three books by #1 New York Times bestselling author W. Bruce Cameron, but their budget was small and timing was tight.

The solution: Daxia Digital conducted a month-long Facebook and Instagram ad campaign aimed at specific niche audiences. Forge was so happy with this campaign that they hired Daxia again in May to conduct a further campaign for the same author.

The result:

  • Content reached 260K people
  • Ads generated 600K impressions
  • 13K clicks to the Forge Books landing page
  • Average cost per click was only $0.23 during the holiday season

ABRAMS Books – Launching two new comic book imprints.

Founded in 1949, ABRAMS was the first company in the United States to specialize in publishing art and illustrated books. In 2024, they spun off two comic book imprints: Abrams ComicArts and Kana (Japanese manga).

The problem: ABRAMS needed to quickly enact a large-scale social and advertising program to promote their two new comic book imprints, but they did not have the internal resources to undertake such a program.

The solution: ABRAMS hired Daxia Digital to manage multiple social platforms for each imprint, run paid campaigns for upcoming titles, work with notable authors like Darren Aronofsky for targeted go-to-market campaigns, and managing the to day-to-day needs of the fan community.

The result (in one quarter):

  • Increased impressions by 184,939%
  • Grew social engagements by 8.03M%
  • Improved the engagement rate by 4,240%
